Antibiotic Resistance Monitoring & Detection
Streck ARM-D Kit, β-Lactamase detects 9 different Carbapenemases, ESBLs and plasmid-mediated ampC gene families. The ampC kit targets 6 plasmid-mediated ampC resistance genes and can differentiate plasmid-mediated ampC β-lactamase resistance from chromosomal resistance. This comprehensive target list complements phenotypic methods for the detection of multidrug resistant organisms and will be a valuable addition to hospital surveillance and research programs.
The Streck ARM-D Kits can be used with most 4-channel real-time PCR instruments, and have been validated for use with the following systems: Applied Biosystems 7500 Fast, Applied Biosystems QuantStudio® 7Flex, Bio-Rad® CFX96 Touch™, QIAGEN Rotor-Gene Q and Streck Zulu RT™.

Identification of β-Lactamase Genes

The kit consists of three multiplexed reactions, each targeting 3 gene families plus an internal control. Each PCR Mix 1, 2, and 3 includes 250 µL of primers and probe combinations for each target, so that 100 25 µL PCR reactions can be performed. In addition, for each Mix there is a corresponding Control vial, which contains all of the DNA sequences detected by the corresponding PCR Mix. Sufficient material is included to run 12 Control reactions.
